This Ascentis Quality Assured Level 3 Diploma in Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) is essentially a course based around the process concerned with interpersonal communication, particularly the non-verbal kind. It emphasises self-understanding, self-awareness, and intrinsic emotional understanding and self- development. This course is for those with special interest in the subject and also for individuals who wish to develop a career in NLP.
NLP can be used as both practical and theoretical applications in order to facilitate the fulfillment of personal aims and objectives.
The course is delivered through ten modules and concludes with an online examination.
The first module looks at what NLP actually is, where it came from and a brief summary of the principles and presuppositions which make up the whole process.
In this module students will look at the different working and theoretical models within NLP and how these can be applied to different situations. Students learn how outcomes are formed and shaped.
A major component of NLP is communication. There are a variety of communication types, all of which will be examined. The way in which these affect the working models within NLP will be explored.
Different values and belief systems influence perception and outcomes of any task or action in life. Therefore in this module we look at the definition of these processes and how this relates to NLP programming.
These relate to thinking processes and how these in turn contribute to responses and action. This module will examine these in detail, as well as relating these processes to skills and abilities.
This module seeks to explore the relationship between the level on which we behave or do things to behaviour. This resulting behaviour influences our perception and therefore if relevant to NLP programming and delivery. In this module we look at hierarchies of needs and experience, together with timelines.
In this module we explore and contextualize the different components and uses of language as it is a crucial component of communication.
Here we look at programme design and different ethical considerations. This module will also explore NLP in practice and what this means in terms of client-therapist relationships.
This module examines the processes of modelling and reframing, both of which are precursors to the facilitation of change. In addition, the scope of these processes will be discusses in relation to NLP and its limitations.
The final module gives examples of specific applications and situations for NLP use, and also reviews the course holistically.
